Gratitude of the day: coffee

Gratitude of the day: coffee at any point of the day. I actually never drank coffee until I got into photography, about 2 years ago. But I kept venturing into cafes because I just adored the photos of coffee cups and cafes I saw on flickr. Next thing I know, I now need coffee to start the day. I didn’t wind up getting coffee today, so I am already looking forward to having some tomorrow morn.

  1. The photos are beautiful and very appetizing. I love coffee, I drink every morning a strong espresso with milk. I have not seen that coffee is brewed, how on your last photo. That is fantastic.

  2. I am also not a big fan of coffee drinking but for photography I can do almost everything:) That special mood, which is in the coffee-house drives me crazy!:)

  3. Mmm. I started drinking coffee in middle school. My teachers gave me hours of homework and I was staying up until almost midnight getting it done, so my mother thought I should try a cup of coffee at night to see if it would keep me up for at least as long as it took to get my homework done. It worked. But now I’m addicted. I have coffee all day everyday. I can drink a whole pot to myself at home. It’s not the healthiest thing, but I’m certainly grateful for it. :)

  4. No!! You haven’t started your day yet! No need to wait until tomorrow morning right? Get some this afternoon, haha =D
One thing’s for sure, you can always count on awesome light at BB to go along with your perfectly crafted siphon-pot brew.

  5. It’s funny, I love love love the smell of coffee (I think it’s part of being human), but I don’t like to drink it unless its a pumpkin spice latte or something. :) Love that shot of the cream slowly mixing with the coffee!

    • Yeah, I have to have milk and half-and-half in it (and sugars and syrups don’t hurt!). I can’t drink it black just yet. Also, I love the pumpkin spice latte! Although I guess many do. :)

  6. I recently just started drinking coffee again after almost a decade and even back in those days i only drank a cup a month or so to get by studying :) can’t say i love the smell of coffee because i’ve got a nose of a sniffer dog, super sensitive so I have to ease back in weakly, by that i mean a soy mocha or cappuccino :D

  7. Oh yeah. You KNOW this is going in my list of gratitudes, too! Chris and I enjoy a cup from our Chemex every single morning while we make breakfast. And I was TOTALLY the same way – I drank it here and there in college, y’know, desperate times call for desperate measures and all that. But my appreciation for it didn’t really blossom until I moved to Portland and got serious about photography. Now I look at a cafe visit as a way to get my fix AND get some pretty cafe shots to boot. It helps to soften the blow of cafe prices. ;)

    • Oh, a Chemex… that’s the next step. Although if I’m being honest, it’d be solely for the pictures. Dang, that object is photogenic. I swear, photography has made coffee addicts of us all.
