A day of ice cream decadence in Berkeley

Sunday may or may not have been a day of decadence. My friend and I ate at La Note in Berkeley, a brunch complete with gingerbread lemon pancakes (yes, gingerbread pancakes!). A few shots there:

Then we traipsed around Berkeley, stopping at the floral shop (in my previous post) and then had ice cream at Tara’s Organic Ice Cream. An unusual array of flavors, with unlimited sampling. Gotta love it. (The salted caramel ice cream was delish!) And then, in the epitome of decadence, we saw that Ici Ice Cream was open, so we had to stop in for a second helping of ice cream.

And it wasn’t like there was a lot of time between ice cream stops. I mean, it was like 10 minutes. Yikes! At least we got tiny sizes at Tara’s. But the handmade cones at Ici were just too good to pass up. (For inquiring minds, I got the candied cocoa nibs flavor. Sooo good.)

  1. Yummmm. Hope you kept that pink lemonade bottle – it’s the cutest! And is it terrible that I want the tablecloth fabric from the first place? ;) Sometimes you just gotta indulge – don’t feel too bad!

  2. Wow! Both these places look amazing. My favorite ice cream flavor is salted caramel; will have to try Tara’s next time I’m in Berkeley. I especially like that last shot!
