We had a small stay at the Cheshire Cat Inn in Santa Barbara earlier this summer.
It was very charming. Full of knickknacks. Great location, too.
One thing I distinctly remember during our stay here was staying up late to surf the internet and watch all the news segments about the Higgs boson. For some reason, I was obsessed with it. (Specifically, trying to figure out what it meant! It only took, like, 20 articles before I understood.) Priorities.
This hotel was easily one of the most charming I’ve seen. Its location couldn’t be beat — less than 1 block away from the ocean. They served free snacks all day (and pie at night!). And I loved that the room included a full kitchen.
While in San Diego, we decided to splurge and get a fancier hotel than we were used to. Once I saw the US Grant, I immediately called them to make reservations. Gorgeous hotel, perfect location… done.
We checked in, and not even 10 minutes later, we got a knock on the door and got a pleasant surprise! Thanks to the US Grant for a wonderful stay.
